What’s up buttercup?! 🌼 My name is Melodie the illustrator of the absurd and person behind the puns. If you are wondering who I am, you're in luck! Let me tell you a little about myself and the seeds planted to make The Punny Forest. 🌱
Well, I’m someone who has a case of the giggles. 🧳 I believe daydreaming is important and writing can be a great workout for the imagination. Which is probably why I find a lot of peace in writing nature poetry. Reading is wonderful but I care more about vibes than plots. I like jigsaw puzzles and a good raspberry lemonade. 🍋 Mavka: The Forest Song and My Neighbor Totoro are my favorite movies but for a good time Trolls is a go to! I will never get tired of the Disney Fairies lore. And sea otters are just too special not to be my favorite animal. 🦦 My favorite flowers are sunflowers, dandelions, and daisies. 🌻

A little bit about the forest...
One day I decided to grow up and leave Never Land. The longer I stayed away the longer life became entirely too serious. I started to get homesick, so I became Alice following the white rabbit of my past. 🐇 When I caught up with him, he told me about how I used to love learning about nature, animals, and plants. And how I used to take joy in giggling aloud reading joke books. Over time, it slowly became a hobby to collect not only joke books but nature books. I was so grateful to the white rabbit because I started to remember this curious little curation of mine. The days of saving my allowance to buy a new animal book or when I would rummage through the thrift store in search for the best laugh. I can even recall one joke that basically said, "What did the leopard say after it finished a big meal? That hit the spot!”, with a drawing of a full-bellied leopard lounging with a toothpick between its teeth. 🐆 Come on, that was genius to me! Imagination, animals, and humor? Pure childhood bliss. ✨
With that being said, The Punny Forest was intended to bring my inner child back to life, all while combining my two loves - nature and jokes. 🌳 Adding lightheartedness and whimsy helps me get through the challenges of what life can bring. Knowing this, I wanted to my creations with everyone and anyone in hopes to brighten someone's day between the storm clouds. As a result, the forest will always be open to all ages! 🧚
